I was born in 1979 in Washington DC to Argentine parents who had only recently immigrated to the United States. I've lived in Miami since I was five years old and I am a product of the wonderful North Dade community which I still live and work in today; in fact, my children attend the same school and summer camp I attended as a child. I was also strongly influenced by the formative summers of my youth; practically every year since my birth, I would spend at least thirty days of Argentine winter (sometime between July and August), visiting with my grandmothers. cousins, and friends.
After graduating high school in Miami in 1997, I was admitted to Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. While there, I embraced the school's motto of "Work Hard, Play Hard", finishing my major in English by the end of my sophomore year, then completing a minor in computer science, and a certificate in film and video. At the same time, l religiously tented at K-ville for seats at each Men's Basketball home game at Cameron Indoor Stadium, every basketball season* of my tenure and did the other fun things kids in college get to do. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Duke University in 2001.
Immediately thereafter, I decided to continue pursuing my tech education and enrolled in Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I earned a Masters in Information Systems Management (M.I.S.M.) in 2002. Following my CMU graduation, I came back to Miami to work at the headquarters of a Fortune 500 company as a business intelligence analyst, for nearly three years. Though I enjoyed programming and data analytics, I felt I wanted to grow more academically before really starting my professional life. So at age 24, I applied to law school but this time, I knew I wanted to stay in Miami. And so I did.
I earned my Juris Doctor degree from the University of Miami School of Law as a Dean’s Merit Scholar in 2007. For the next eleven years, I worked with some of the best attorneys in South Florida, learning the practice of law and creating more and more client relationships with every passing year.
In December 2018, I took the leap and launched my own law firm, Melissa Groisman Law, P.A., where we provide concierge-level business and legal services to discerning global entrepreneurs worldwide. I specialize in the field of real estate and corporate law but the firm assists its clients in a broad array of matters.
I am wholly fluent in Spanish and conversational in Hebrew and French.
I am married to MGLPA's Chief Operating Officer, Ben Steinfeld, and we are blessed with two very cute and rambunctious children who are currently campaigning for a second dog.
I have been AV rated since 2015 and I am currently rated AV® Preeminent™ 4.9 out of 5 on Martindale-Hubbell’s® Peer Review Ratings.
I enjoy reading as much as I can, dark chocolate with sea salt, espresso, Tango, Chopin, Puccini, Hip-Hop, Garcia Marquez, Coelho, Harari, sudoku, and painting. I am on a perpetual quest to find Miami's best pizza and my Goldendoodle @sandymacaroni lays at my feet while I work.
I value my client relationships and strive to ensure their matters are treated with the utmost attention, professionalism, discretion, efficiency, and respect. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you think I can be of service.
